THE OPPORTUNITY
Flock Safety is looking for a Manager of Deployed Operations to lead the full operational lifecycle of our deployed drone systems — from site preparation and installation to training, field maintenance, and long-term sustainment.
This role is critical to ensuring that every deployed system operates safely, reliably, and in full compliance with Flock standards, FAA regulations, and customer mission requirements. As the operational bridge between Engineering, Flight Operations, and Customer Success, this leader will transform our deployment process into a disciplined, scalable, and data-driven operation that supports Flock’s mission to eliminate crime and make communities safer.
THE SKILLSET
- Operational Strategy: Proven ability to define and execute large-scale operational strategies that balance safety, efficiency, and scalability.
- Deployment Leadership: Experience overseeing complex field deployments — including hardware, software, and network integration — in regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Customer Engagement: Skilled at building trusted partnerships with customers, translating technical requirements into actionable field plans, and ensuring transparent communication throughout deployment.
- Process Optimization: Demonstrated success designing and iterating operational workflows, SOPs, and safety protocols to drive efficiency and repeatability.
- Data-Driven Leadership: Experience using KPIs and operational data to inform decisions, drive continuous improvement, and improve reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong record of working with Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to align operational execution with product and customer needs.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with drone, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems; deep understanding of FAA frameworks (Part 107, Part 91, BVLOS).
- Project Management: Expert in managing multiple concurrent deployments using tools such as Asana, Jira, or Smartsheet.
- Communication & Adaptability: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Experience & Education:
- 7+ years in operations, field engineering, or deployment management — ideally within aerospace, robotics, or unmanned systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or related technical discipline preferred.
Certifications:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required)
- SMS / Safety Management System Certification (preferred)
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent (preferred)
