About the Data Engineering Lead role...
The Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) team at SiteMinder is the central BI and Analytics team catering to all analytical needs across the company. This profile would play an important role as part of the core data engineering and Ops team which is part of the EDMA. You will be part of the core team responsible for all the data engineering and analysis projects using Snowflake, AWS, SQL and Python catering to various BI and analytics projects. This is a very hands-on role that includes 70% allocation projects on Data Engineering and 30% on Data Ops.
What you will do...
- Build optimized data engineering solutions using industry best practices to support and enable all the analytical needs of the organization
- Build strong functional and business knowledge of various applications and business process systems like Siteminder Apps, Salesforce, Zuora etc.
- Cater to day to day Data Operations and Adhoc data analysis requests
- Participate in various data deep-dive and data discovery projects to analyze various data sources and share the findings
What you have...
- Vast experience in data engineering with strong skills in Cloud Data Engineering and analysis
- Good hands-on experience with Snowflake implementation including adoption of industry best practices (must have)
- Hands-on experience in cloud data engineering projects.
- Should have experience of building bespoke integration layers using Python, REST API, etc.
- Should have very good hands-on experience of working within AWS data services such as Glue, EMR, Kinesis, etc. Very good understanding of AWS data tech stack would be an added advantage.
- Preferably have experience of solution development for data pipelines using Kinesis, Kafka or similar alternatives to handle streaming data sets in at least 1 project
- Experience designing and building complete ETL processes. Have good knowledge of data warehousing concepts, Dimension and Fact tables. Utilised ad-hoc techniques to perform on-the-fly analysis of data
- Familiarity with complex data lake environments that span OLTP, MPP and Hadoop platforms You must have strong technical abilities to understand, design, write and debug complex code in Python, Spark and SQL
- Experience of working in a startup environment is highly preferred. Good experience in working with geographically and culturally diverse teams
- This role demands meticulous communication and documentation skills. Should be able to discuss projects with remotely located managers and work well in in-person and remote team situations. Work under minimal supervision and leverage your knowledge, experience, and judgment to accomplish well-defined goals
