THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact the development of advanced device technology. You'll be a key player in defining our product architecture, influencing critical decisions across Mechanical, Electrical, and Performance domains. Your expertise will be essential as we advance the drone market and deliver tangible benefits to communities.
THE SKILLSET
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Design
- Experience Designing robust enclosures for industrial IoT and electromechanical devices
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Strong experience with injection molding and sheet metal fabrication.
- Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals: Solid grasp of core principles (e.g., statics, dynamics, material science).
- Ability to design products that meet precise technical requirements and performance criteria
Preferred
- Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience working with small, power constrained, ruggedized devices

90 DAYS AT FLOCK

The First 30 Days
- Familiarize yourself with essential design software and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Understand departmental conventions, workflows, and your key responsibilities.
The First 60 Days
- Deliver CAD models and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Deliver Bill of Materials (BOM) including all mechanical components.
- Create manufacturing drawings and specifications for mechanical parts.
- Conduct thorough analysis and testing to validate design choices and make necessary improvements.
90 Days & Beyond
- Deliver physical prototypes for testing and validation.
- Deliver test reports and data analysis documenting the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical designs.
- Create structural analysis reports to ensure mechanical integrity and durability.
- Write detailed assembly instructions for integrating mechanical and electrical components.

3. The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.
