THE OPPORTUNITY
As our marketing and brand presence expand, we need a dedicated Motion Designer to bring the Flock Safety story to life through high-impact motion graphics, animations, and visual storytelling. This role will help define how motion lives across our website, paid ads, campaigns, product launches, sales tools, and tentpole events. You will own the development of our motion style guide and help build a scalable motion component system (transitions, lower thirds, animated iconography, and product UI animations).
You’ll partner with our in-house videographers to edit, polish and ship video projects. You’ll partner with our web designer to deliver engaging scroll-based animations, microinteractions, and Lottie animations that match our new brand system. You’ll guide the motion design process from beginning to end - helping internal stakeholders to realize their vision while keeping projects on time and on brand. You’re used to working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a high bar for quality.
THE SKILLSET
- 4-6 years of professional Motion Design experience, ideally with experience at a busy in-house team or production studio
- A portfolio of motion work that shows both conceptual thinking and brand consistency
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in industry relevant multimedia software
- Expert in typography, pacing, transitions, and narrative structure in motion storytelling
- Proven ability to thrive in small, fast-paced teams and champion your work to teammates and leadership
- Proven ability to guide stakeholders through the motion design process - suggesting design solutions to their goals and needs for each project and creating storyboards or animatics where necessary
- Receptive to feedback in an iterative design process
- Able to work independently, drive multiple projects at a time, and iterate quickly
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience producing paid ads for Meta, Youtube, Linkedin, and CTV as well as an understanding of social best practices and strategies
- Experience creating Lottie animations and working with developers to bring motion to life in product and marketing
- 3D skills a plus

90 DAYS AT FLOCK
At Flock, we believe strongly in setting clear expectations and holding ourselves accountable. This manifests into 90 day plans. These are detailed outlines of what success looks like for an individual and are the best tools to establish regular feedback with a new manager-direct report relationship. No matter what, 90 day plans should be used for a new hire. They should also be used when an employee has a new manager. This ensures both the employee and the manager are aligned on the definition of success.
THE FIRST 30 DAYS
- Establish strong working relationships across Foundry, Flock Studios and cross-functional partners
- Get up to speed on the new brand and contribute motion assets to a campaign and work on requests from the Marketing Queue
- Begin defining the motion style guide and explore initial directions for animation, transitions, and interactions
- Deliver first motion assets for use in paid ads, email, social, or website
THE FIRST 60 DAYS
- Present your POV and direction for Flock’s motion identity across marketing and web
- Deliver a polished UI animation or scroll interaction for the new website
- Build out a foundational motion component library for the Flock Studios team (lower thirds, transitions, animated icons, etc.)
90 DAYS & BEYOND
- Finalize and distribute the Flock Motion Style Guide
- Support product launches an
