ABOUT THE TEAM

The ChatGPT Ecosystem team is a core part of our broader effort to evolve ChatGPT into a true super-assistant.

Our goal is to build the platform that allows developers—and eventually end users—to extend ChatGPT in powerful ways, making it dramatically more useful across a wide range of real-world tasks. We’re creating the foundation for a rich ecosystem of applications, integrations, and tools that expand what ChatGPT can do.

This team sits at the intersection of product engineering, platform design, and developer experience, working closely with product, research, security, and trust & safety to enable a global community of builders to create on top of ChatGPT.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Full Stack Engineer on the ChatGPT Ecosystem team, you will help design and build the platform that powers ChatGPT Apps and developer integrations.

You’ll work across the stack—from developer-facing interfaces to backend systems—to ship features that make it easier for developers to build, deploy, and scale applications within ChatGPT. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, and cross-functional partners to translate evolving model capabilities into robust, developer-friendly tools.

We’re looking for engineers who enjoy building platforms, care deeply about developer experience, and are excited to shape the foundation of a new application ecosystem.

This role is based in San Francisco or New York City. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Build end-to-end platform features that power the ChatGPT Apps SDK and broader developer ecosystem.

- Design and implement APIs, services, and interfaces that enable developers to build and integrate applications within ChatGPT.

- Improve developer workflows, tooling, and documentation to make building on ChatGPT intuitive and scalable.
