JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to support the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of Quartermaster’s Smartmast systems. You will work closely with engineering and operations to design and release mechanical hardware and drive electromechanical integration improvements (BOMs, cabling, installation standards, and reliability fixes) for harsh marine environments. You should be comfortable switching between CAD, basic electrical integration (wiring/connectorization), lightweight scripting for R&D and test tooling, and field troubleshooting.

This is a great fit for a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem solving and can independently identify and drive integration tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment. The role is primarily remote and includes occasional travel to vessel locations or manufacturing sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and release hardware from established requirements, including brackets, mounting interfaces, enclosures, and installation/routing solutions with attention to serviceability, sealing, vibration, and corrosion.

- Collaborate with field operations to support Smartmast deployments and troubleshoot mechanical integration challenges.

- Support cabling integration (Ethernet/PoE, coax/RF, power) by researching and sourcing components; define and validate routing/strain relief/termination standards and perform basic verification testing.
