The Sr. Director of Engineering for Infrastructure and Platform Services will lead the organization responsible for the vision, strategy, and delivery of 1Password’s cloud-native Infrastructure and Platform as a Service capabilities.

What you build and operate powers 1Password’s Credential Management and emerging Unified Access platform, and its emerging Identity Security Infrastructure, securing human, workload, and agent identities, enabling their secure, private, and dynamic access to digital resources.

This leader will translate 1Password’s business and product strategy into an actionable roadmap, delivering low-friction, simple to use and operate infrastructure and platform services. They will own the same for adjacent systems that enable all 1Password developers to build, deploy, and operate consistently and effectively across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

The ideal candidate combines deep technical experience in cloud infrastructure, service based delivery, scalable CI/CD best practices, as well as in operating, observing, scaling, and maintaining highly resilient distributed systems in a 7x24 development-to-production environment.

As a senior leader, you have demonstrated scaled organizational and people leadership, and the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Security, and Customer Success.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

- Experience: 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.

- Technical expertise: Strong background in building and operating cloud-native, cloud-scale platform and infrastructure services. Experience building infrastructure and platform services that transparently abstracts, simplifies scale through a self-service-first approach, and eliminates friction for every phase of the SDLC - from development to operations - is preferred. Experience owning and making build-buy decisions across all aspects of the SDLC, yielding demonstrable positive ROI, increased results velocity, and industry-leading developer experience measures is preferred.

- Security acumen: Solid understanding of modern identity, secrets management, and access control patterns is preferred.

- Execution and delivery: Proven ability to lead organizations through transformation while delivering reliable infrastructure services to internal customers.

- Cross-functional collaboration: Demonstrated success partnering with Product, Security, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

- Communication: Ability to connect technical strategy to business outcomes and inspire teams around both near- and long-term goals.

- People leadership: Track record of building, scaling, and operating diverse, high-performing engineering organizations and career ladders.
