Our client is launching a brand-new B2C app within the music and entertainment space and is seeking a strategic marketing leader to build and scale its entire go-to-market function from the ground up. Operating in a startup environment, they are focused on building strong positioning, driving user acquisition, and establishing brand recognition across both digital and real-world channels. This role will play a foundational part in shaping how the product enters the market and scales within the music and live entertainment ecosystem.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The GTM Strategist will own the full go-to-market strategy for a brand-new product launch, developing a comprehensive marketing plan, identifying the right channels and tactics, and driving execution across digital and real-world initiatives. This is a strategy-first role that begins hands-on, building systems, launching campaigns, and setting up infrastructure, before evolving into strategic leadership and team oversight as traction grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GO-TO-MARKET STRATEGY & POSITIONING
- Develop and own the full go-to-market strategy for a brand-new B2C app, including channel selection, positioning, messaging, and growth tactics.
- Identify and test marketing channels beyond traditional paid advertising, bringing creative and unconventional approaches to user acquisition.
- Work across current live channels (TikTok, Reddit, and Meta) while expanding beyond them.
- Create creative concepts and campaign angles for execution by the design and content teams.
- Direct the creative vision and ensure brand consistency across initiatives.
CAMPAIGN EXECUTION & OPTIMIZATION
- Be hands-on in execution during the initial phase, setting up campaigns, channels, and workflows.
- Establish KPIs and track campaign performance.
- Own reporting and analytics end-to-end.
- Design and run A/B tests on ad creatives, landing pages, and campaign messaging to optimize conversion rates, engagement, and ROI.
- Use data to continuously iterate and refine strategy.
TEAM MANAGEMENT & SCALING
- Manage and coordinate a small team consisting of a graphic designer, content creator (video/social media), and marketing assistant.
- Hire and onboard additional team members as workload grows.
- Transition from hands-on execution to strategic leadership and oversight as the team scales.
BUDGET & GROWTH MANAGEMENT
- Manage a monthly marketing budget of approximately $5,000, allocating spend strategically across channels.
- Drive user acquisition as the primary success metric, including app signups and engagement.
- Build a scalable user acquisition engine to support long-term growth.
REAL-WORLD MARKETING & INDUSTRY PRESENCE
- Develop a real-world marketing presence at concert venues, live events, and within the music industry ecosystem.
- Build relationships with booking managers, venue operators, and entertainment gatekeepers.
- Strengthen brand awareness and market recognition within the music and entertainment community through digital and in-person initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated success developing and executing a full go-to-market strategy for a startup or early-stage product.
- Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B tests to optimize campaign performance.
- Experience managing or coordinating cross-functional creative teams (designers, content creators, etc.).
- DTC marketing experience within entertainment or music is a nice-to-have.
SKILLS
- Strong strategic and holistic marketing mindset beyond single-channel execution.
- Strong analytical capabilities with hands-on experience in reporting, analytics tools, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and build marketing infrastructure from scratch.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for content creation, research, and workflow optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present strategies and results to leadership.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
