ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director of Sales Compensation is the owner of CodeRabbit's end-to-end commission function. This is a build role. You will design the infrastructure, select and implement the tooling, drive planning cycles, and ensure every commission dollar is processed with accuracy and transparency. You will be the primary point of contact for all compensation-related questions across Sales, Finance, and People, and a key contributor to annual quota-setting cycles. As a member of CodeRabbit's team, you are expected to leverage AI tools and automation to continuously find smarter, faster ways to operate — building a compensation function that scales through technology, not just headcount. This role is ideal for a hands-on operator who is energized by the challenge of building from zero at a category-defining AI company.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own commissions operations — calculate, audit, and process monthly payouts accurately and on time across all eligible roles

- Lead comp plan design — partner with Sales, Finance, and People on annual plans, including quotas, ramps, accelerators, clawbacks, and SPIFFs

- Stand up the commissions system — define requirements, select a vendor, and drive rollout and adoption across GTM

- Own comp policies and governance — maintain plan docs, crediting rules, exceptions, and dispute resolution as the single source of truth
