Position Summary The Executive Director of Platform Engineering is the senior-most leader responsible for the strategy, execution, and organizational health of the Platform Engineering function within the Healthcare Delivery (HCD) portfolio. This role leads a capability-centered organization spanning four teams: Data & Performance, Development Enablement & Acceleration, Infrastructure Enablement, and Observability & Reliability, as well as a Distinguished Engineer and Principal Engineer cohort that serves as the technical backbone of the org. This role is accountable for the reliability, security, cost-efficiency, and developer experience of a complex, multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP) supporting Signify Health, Oak Street Health, and RubiconMD. It carries direct ownership of the platform engineering budget, strategic vendor relationships, and the technical roadmap across all capability areas, including automation and AI-enabled delivery, in a HIPAA-regulated environment with enterprise-level visibility into CVS Health. This is a player-coach role: you set the vision, remove organizational obstacles, and partner with senior engineering and product leadership across the portfolio.
