Job Title: Lead Backend Engineer

Salary: £110,000 - £130,000

Job Description:
Join Midnite as the technical lead for our greenfield AI & Back Office team. In this player-manager role, you will build the internal platform powering our global operations while driving practical AI integration across engineering workflows. You will lead three engineers to ship high-quality Python systems that redefine how our business operates daily.

What you will do:

- Architect and build the core backend systems for Midnite’s internal back office platform, focusing on configuration management and operational APIs.

- Manage and mentor a small team of three fullstack and backend engineers, maintaining a high bar for code quality and professional growth.

- Identify and prototype AI-powered improvements such as automated documentation, RAG pipelines, and intelligent alerting to reduce operational toil.

The ideal candidate:

- 7+ years of experience in backend engineering with strong Python proficiency and a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
