Position Summary This position is responsible for screening orders, research, and review of prescription overrides, accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion, and/ or thinking through and solving escalated prescription issues. Through your skills and knowledge, you will offer solutions needed to help simplify the customer health care experience. Areas of focus for Pharmacy Technicians may include doctor and member facing outbound calls, inbound calls, entering patient and prescription information into our system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes. To help support development and maximize workflow, you will be asked to perform other pharmacy functions as required. Addresses questions about over-the-counter medications, assists with product selection, and provides guidance on non-prescription healthcare products. Collects and inputs prescription information, ensuring adherence to pharmacy protocols and legal requirements. Assists in insurance verification activities by contacting insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and resolving insurance-related issues or questions. Processes payments, and accurately manages financial transactions, including insurance claims and copayments.
