About the role

We’re seeking a Proposal Manager to join our growing capture and proposals team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting clear, persuasive, and compliant written materials that communicate OpenAI’s value to government customers. You’ll collaborate closely with capture lead, technical subject matter experts, legal, and product teams to produce high-quality proposals, RFx responses, white papers, and related materials.

This is an ideal role for someone with 5–10 years of experience in government proposal writing who thrives on turning complex technical ideas into compelling narratives and enjoys working across functions in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based in Washington, DC.

In this role, you'll:

- Drive Capture and Proposal Strategy: Coordinate with Capture and Sales leadership to identify opportunities, develop deal qualification processes, shape customer requirements, and position OpenAI products and services to maximize impact.

- Develop Proposal Content: Write, edit, and format proposal sections and supporting documents, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with solicitation requirements and OpenAI’s mission.
